Many creators build an audience on a single platform and treat its payouts as a salary. It works until the rules change, which they do, often without warning. The creators who last build a stack.
The five layers
- Platform payouts. Ad revenue and creator programmes. Useful, but eligibility, rates and rules differ by country and change often.
- Sponsorships and brand deals. Brands pay for attention, but they usually want proof that your audience trusts you.
- Affiliate income. You earn a commission when people buy through your link. It works best when you genuinely use the product.
- Your own services. Editing, design, coaching, managing pages. Often the fastest route to money, because it needs trust rather than millions of followers.
- Your own products. Templates, guides, courses and communities. Slower to build, but you keep control of price and customer.
A sensible order
Pick a niche you can sustain. Post consistently so people begin to recognise you. Offer a small service or product early, because it teaches you what people will pay for. Then add sponsorships and platform income as the audience grows. No one can promise income, but a stack makes you far less fragile.
